چکیده
For a fixed simple digraph F and given D , an - free k -coloring of is vertex-coloring in which no induced copy monochromatic. We study the complexity deciding for whether admits -free -coloring. Our main focus on restriction problem to planar input digraphs, where it only interesting cases ? { 2 3 } . From known results follows that every whose underlying graph not forest, 2-coloring, with ? ( ) ? oriented 3-coloring. show contrast, • if orientation path length at least 2, then NP -hard decide acyclic 2-coloring. 1,

Edge colorings of graphs avoiding some fixed monochromatic subgraph with linear Turán number
Let F be a graph and k be a positive integer. With a graph G, we associate the quantity ck,F (G), the number of k-colorings of the edge set of G with no monochromatic copy of F . Consider the function ck,F : N −→ N given by ck,F (n) = max{ck,F (G) : |V (G)| = n}, the maximum of ck,F (G) over all graphs G on n vertices. In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of ck,F and describe the extr...
متن کاملForbidden Subgraph Colorings, Oriented Colorings and Intersection Dimensions of Graphs
This thesis deals mainly with two related coloring problems forbidden subgraph colorings and oriented colorings. The former deals with proper colorings of vertices or edges of a graph with constraints on the union of color classes. A well-known example is the acyclic vertex coloring in which we require a proper coloring such that the union of any two color classes is acyclic. Other wellstudied ...
متن کاملColorings and girth of oriented planar graphs
Homomorphisms between graphs are studied as a generalization of colorings and of chromatic number. We investigate here homomorphisms from orienta-tions of undirected planar graphs to graphs (not necessarily planar) containing as few digons as possible. We relate the existence of such homomorphisms to girth and it appears that these questions remain interesting even under large girth assumption ...
متن کاملOriented colorings of triangle-free planar graphs
Oriented graphs are directed graphs without opposite arcs. In other words an oriented graph is an orientation of an undirected graph, obtained by assigning to every edge one of the two possible orientations. IfG is a graph, V (G) denotes its vertex set, E(G) denotes its set of edges (or arcs if G is an oriented graph) and F (G) denotes its set of faces if G is planar. A homomorphism from an ori...
متن کاملOn Colorings Avoiding a Rainbow Cycle and a Fixed Monochromatic Subgraph
Let H and G be two graphs on fixed number of vertices. An edge coloring of a complete graph is called (H,G)-good if there is no monochromatic copy of G and no rainbow (totally multicolored) copy of H in this coloring. As shown by Jamison and West, an (H,G)-good coloring of an arbitrarily large complete graph exists unless either G is a star or H is a forest. The largest number of colors in an (...
